First International Man Woman Marriage Online Are you For or Against?

On July 23 2008 I will marry my wife to be via the internet! We will be broadcasting on Blogtv.com. I have gone through many hard and long research and paperwork. Also I have gone to her country Ukraine and filed papers with the US Embassy and the Ukraine Ministry and tried to get the marriage done over there. Except I didn’t have my paperwork in Ukrainian writing but in Russian so the Marriage register said try in my country or go home and have the papers translated and stamped then bring back, while the Ukraine Ministry say I only have six month to complete the marriage. So In my state Colorado I was allowed to have an absentee marriage license as long as the US Embassy made her swear oath to this document and an other stating she didn’t have a SS number. Under Colorado Law we only need to make the contract by signing the agreement. So we have decided to allow more people to be our witnesses Via the net. 9000 mile apart we will be married on the WEB FOR REAL. What say you ?????????

Interesting story, for those who do not really know how the marriage process works in Ukraine.

I would question why you didn’t walk to the translation agency next to the marriage ministry, spend the 10 UAH, and have the document you needed (your passport) translated and certified – especially since your “long and hard research” obviously showed you that you had to have Ukrainian translations.

I would also question why you did not have to go to the Ministry of Foreign affairs to have the documents you “filed with the US embassy” (a certificate of non-impediment) legalized, as required. (And actually, no documents have to be “filed” with the embassy).

And why didn’t you take care of the translated papers through the Ukrainian embassy in the US, since your “hard research” obviously would have shown you that your documents had to be in Ukrainian, and they had to be notarized by a UKRAINIAN notary.

As to the 6 months… that’s how long a translation is valid for, or your apostilles, etc. – not the marriage license. And US licenses have the same thing. Also note that your “wife” will not be able to get her passport changed, as a marriage by proxy is not recognized by Ukraine – which will likely cause problems with immigration as well.

Research also would have show you that you can file for a marriage license without being there if you have a valid reason.

Research would have also shown you that it is quicker to get her a visa to the US as a fiancee, than it is as a spouse.

Sounds like a story to me – or a woman scamming you.
