Women happy to be labeled trophy wives

They say happiness can’t be bought, but enough money can buy you a trophy wife. More and more women are happy dating someone their fathers age in order to gain financial security and wealth in exchange for their beauty and loyalty.

The traditional meaning of trophy wife dates back to origins of around 1950 and related to the past practice of armies seizing gorgeous women during conflicts and forcing them to be their wives. Of course, modern trophy wives are typical of women consenting to marry mega rich (usually) older men leading an extravagant, lavish lifestyle with full access to their husbands line of credit including a substantial spending allowance and fringe benefits such as holiday homes and luxury cars.

White men and Asian wives are no longer considered socially unacceptable. This trend is becoming more and more common with high profile international business tycoons and Hollywood celebrities opting for subservient Asian wives.

Remember Woody Allen, who famously dumped Mia Farrow for her adopted daughter, who was 35 years his junior. Then there’s Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng, still happily together. You may have heard about CBS boss Leslie Moonves marrying news anchor woman Julie Chen. Hollywood super star Nic Cage secured his vows for the third time with the very young Alice Kim. Quite an array of cross culture, age, and blending of statures for the most curious of minds to ponder over.

According to Forbes magazine, many wealthy and powerful men do not want to marry women who are career driven and ambitious. A trophy wife (kept women) serves the purpose as an accessory for the man and is not to be seen playing on the same playing field in the business world.

Not to generalize too much, there are certainly examples of older men dating younger women who are both as equally successful – Georgina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein are both successful in their own rights. It’s not too uncommon for an older woman to snag a much younger guy either, take Demi Moore for example who has been happily married to Ashton Kutcher for six years and is fifteen years Demi’s junior.

Many young wives are being acquired through the internet where it is common place for lonely rich men to search through international online dating sites and pay huge fees to marry beautiful Eastern European women, or to search through interracial online dating sites for young Asian Brides.
