International Dating Scams Revealed On Love Beyond Borders TV Episode 2 (Part 2 Of 2)
what is the best site for online dating with no identity theft or scams?
The reality is, they don’t exist because no site has the resources to do a full background check on everyone who registers. If you want to avoid scams 100% you have to register with an actual dating agency, not an online agency. They are expensive, but applicants have to go in person to register and can’t lie about their age, height, weight, occupation, location or anything else.
But you can avoid scams on any site by following a few rules
1 – Look locally. If someone is listed as living in your area, then tells you they are out of town/overseas for some reason, it’s a scam
2 – Be realistic. Real people on dating sites don’t look like models or porn stars. Someone whose profile picture looks like a modeling picture is always a scammer. And if you don’t pick up gorgeous girls offline, then you aren’t going to pick them up online. Look for profiles that look like ‘real’ people and in your age group. It’s funny how many short, fat, bald men over 50 online say they are looking for a woman age 18-30. You are just setting yourself up to be scammed as 18-30 year olds usually are looking for 18-30 year old men.
3 – Meet right away. Don’t spend weeks or months chatting online. You only build up an unrealistic picture of the person that’s never going to match the reality when you do meet. If they can’t meet after 2-3 emails, then don’t waste your time. They are either a scammer, married, or just playing you with no intention to meet
4 – Never give away any personal information until you’ve actually met and know you want that person to be able to contact you. That means never give your full name, your employer’s name, your home address, telephone number or email. Only communicate through the site until you meet and know you want that person to be able to contact you again. If they want to start IM’ing you, don’t do it and drop them.
5 – Set up a separate email account just for online dating. If you do get scammed, you don’t want the scammers to inundate your real email with spam for porn sites, Nigerian money scams, webcam sites, Viagra, etc
6 – NEVER send money to anyone you have only met online, no matter what heartbreaking story they have, or say they want to come and marry you. These are all scams. Everyone one of them.
