…… a thin red string with beads worn encircling the midriff of Chinese women?
It seems to be constantly worn, occasionally replaced, and mostly under clothing but rarely on display.
Sometimes an accompanying similar red string is worn on a single finger or toe.
Does this have particular meaning or represent anything cultural/ emotional/ belief or commitment?
I’m chinese and I’ve never actually seen it.
I’m going to venture a guess that it’s for luck.
Red is the color for luck in our culture.
